Bring life to your cocktail party with fun “essentials…”
The holiday season is right around the corner. The time of the year when friends and family get together to over-consume food and wine. But also share the laughs and tears.
It’s by no means “essential” to have these items for your next cocktail party. But I figured what the hell, let’s have some fun with this while adding a little pizazz to items that you’d probably use anyways.
Coaster Set
If you’re the person that picks up someone’s glass without a coaster and screams “use a coaster!” You’re a little bit crazy… and I totally get it. So let’s ditch those beer coasters you get at a bar, and add a little bit of tastefulness to your life.
These coasters by &klevering are original and unique. Founded in 1992, &klevering is a home goods concept brand in Amsterdam that likes to make a statement with its products. If you’re going to yell at someone to use a coaster, might as well make it chic.
Wine Glasses
It’s not a dinner party unless someone has drunk too much wine. And to make that hangover a little less miserable, let’s try and look classy while doing the damage.
I love these Ripple Wine Glasses by Ferm Living. They’re handmade and mouth-blown, so every single one you purchase and use is unique. And with that smoke grey color, it adds a unique element to your wine glass collection.
Lounge/Margarita Glasses
The Carhartt Work in Progress brand has blown it out of the water over the last few years. Known as a workwear company, they’ve forayed into unique products that you wouldn’t have seen come from this company decades ago.
The WIP label taps into the Carhartt legacy while encompassing a forward-thinking aesthetic. That salt on the rim with these glasses is sure to get the people going.
Candles
Candles are never a bad idea. Especially when they’re unique. Even if you don’t want to light them up, they are still a great table accessory that can add some depth to your aesthetic.
These Andrej Urem Lace Soy candles are it. Handmade, can burn up to 60 hours, and contains lead-free cotton so you don’t get that weird sooty smoke when it’s lit.
If you’re looking for something with a little more scent, then you should check out the Chinese Tobacco candle from Luxury brand 19-69 by Swedish artist Johan Bergelin.
Made from some of the finest ingredients like vegetable waxes, while also using a traditional formula, Chinese Tobacco will have your guest sniffers on fire as soon as they walk into your abode. A little spicy, with a warm feel.
Cocktail Glasses
Bartender, pour me a stiff drink. It’s been a long year. And I’ve got these sweet cocktail glasses that I’ve brought from home. I think I’m feeling an espresso martini. Let’s get this night started!
These Tom Dixon cocktail glasses are beautifully designed, yet simple. It’s heavy on the price tag, but all of Tom Dixon’s products are well-made and 100% ready to impress (and ready for a pour).
And there you have it! Dust off that 100-year-old bourbon you haven’t touched in 100 years, put together your finest playlist in all the land, and celebrate the up-and-coming holiday season with me 🍹
See you next Sunday,
