There’s been so much buzz about the 2000s.

From the Free Britney movement to the Post Malone X Crocs collab to baggy jeans
 it’s all coming back full force. And I feel like it’s just the beginning.

It’s completely taken hold of the fashion industry. This revival of the Hip-Hop and punk scene has blessed us with the re-emergence of skater styles. Oh, and of course the rejuvenation of the darling Canadian tuxedo - I’m mean at this point it looks like it’s all fair game.

So are you into this trend?

I know I am. So I compiled 9 fashion trends for you that are just ripe for a comeback. Cue the nostalgia!

đŸ§ș brand of the week: Ksubi

soiree brand of the week is ksubi

Founded in 1999, Ksubi is undeniably one of the most coveted Australian fashion labels in the world. Having built a significant presence and cult following globally, the brand has been seen on every A-list celebrity with attitude, from A$AP Rocky to Kylie Jenner, Ruby Rose, and The Internet. Renowned for its signature denim and deliberate unfussy style, the irreverent brand remains uninfluenced by consumer trends and chooses instead to set its own agenda.

😂 9 fashion trends from the 2000s that are back in action

can someone tell me why JT looks like a linebacker?

9 all over print

Not that it ever left (for me personally) - but all over print is back in the mainstream. And for good reason. There’s a unilateral approach going on in fashion where lines are being blurred. Men’s fashion is morphing into just “fashion” - see Kid Cudi Off-White dress.

Pioneered by the late Alexander McQueen, all over prints have taken on a mind of their own. And brands have been very clever with the way they approach this trend. See BAPE and other high-end brands.

8 tracksuits

I really don’t know how I feel about tracksuits. I kinda hate them. It could be because I feel you look like a 70’s coke dealer when you wear them. Not only that, they’re a little tacky to me. But
 they’re back!!

Altheisure’s not going anywhere, and brands are looking to the 2000s to mesh casual style with high-end fashion. And you see that with mainstream artists like Travis Scott sporting the look.

7 cargo pants

@urbanoutfitters

I can’t believe what I’m seeing. Cargo pants
 and people are actually wearing them to be stylish? This really is a crazy world.

But there’s a twist with its comeback. The new version of the cargo pants is straighter-legged and has positioned itself to be a must-own for street style. With how much shit we’re walking around with these days (phone, wallet, AirTags, headphones, etc
) you’ll be able to stuff your pockets with all of it! Wow! How useful cargo pants can be! Who knew.

6 skater style

When MGK’s released his punk album recently, it solidified the 00s were back. The 00s called for baggy jeans, chains, and chunky sneakers. And you’re seeing a comeback of this style. Bring back those Vans baby!

Remember sagging your pants? Yes, we all did it when we were younger. But there’s a new version to that look. Pants sit at your waist with elongated inseams that give that saggy look. Everything is bigger, baggier, and longer with this trend. Which means skinny jeans are on the way out.

5 pink

It’s not weird to see pink on dudes anymore. And as of recently, the color has made a serious resurgence. That’s because people are more expressive - and they’re wearing more colors than ever before. Unfortunately, but fortunately, you can thank Kanye for this trend. He pushes pink consistently throughout his styles and designs.

4 canadian tuxedo

@timesunion

Thanks to the Trailer Park Boy’s (not really), the denim on denim look is wreaking havoc on fashion trends. But it makes sense. You already see 2 piece matching sets everywhere. Remember Man Rompers? Yeah, it’s a thing.

Full disclosure, I wore a Canadian Tuxedo to the office once. Years ago. I got a lot of shit for it. Do you think you’re ballsy enough to wear it?

3 bucket hats

Bucket hats are reminiscent of the Hip-Hop seen in the 90s. I know y’all remember the iconic Jay-Z Big Pimpin’ video. That’s when the bucket hat solidified itself into mainstream popularity.

Now you see celebs like Justin Bieber sporting it in videos, and even on more celebs in the wild. It’s become a popular headwear of choice for this spring and summer. Old school Miami vibes.

2 throwback jersey’s

throw back jersey's fashion trend
@rockywidnergetty

Personally, I’m not the type to wear someone else’s name on my back. But if it’s a Kobe throwback, you know I’m rockin’ it.

Add another trend birthed from Hip-Hop to the list. It was an important fashion staple in the early 00s. Everyone had jersey’s in their closets. And with sports re-opening fully more people are out in the wild ready to sport their squads.

1 highlights

I begged my mom in 3rd grade to get highlights. I got them. And then I looked like a moron. I’ll see if I can dig up a photo for y’all. But the highlights of old are no more. People are saying F it, “I’m dying my whole head.” And I kinda dig it.

You can thank Kanye and a ton of NBA players for really pushing this trend. Not gonna lie
 I’ve thought about giving it another shot. We never learn anyways. Am I right??

👖 what’s in my closet: ASOS DESIGN 2 pack swim trunks

They’re cheap and fit really well. If you’re on a budget grab these before your next pool party.
